Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Introduced for the 1984 model year, the C4-generation Corvette may have been the biggest leap from its forbears. It was able to shed 300 pounds with the utilization of plastic body panels, as opposed to fiberglass, which was integral to the lightweight construction of the first three generations. Heavy use of wind tunnel testing and aerodynamic tweaking brought its drag coefficient down to as low as 0.34, allowing the new Corvette to cut through the air with ease. These upgrades extended to the engine bay, culminating in a new version of the “L98” small block with aluminum heads that added tuned port fuel injection, shaking up the Corvette formula and bumping up horsepower.
The 1989 C4-generation Corvette was the last before a mid-cycle refresh, and while the high-performance four-cam ZR-1 was heavily promoted, it would not arrive until 1990. With that said, the 1989 Corvette was not without its improvements, like upgraded 17 inch wheels, tighter-ratio steering, Delco-Bilstein shocks, and front-end reinforcements.
This 1989 Corvette is a well-kept, two-owner owner example, finished in Arctic White paint over black cloth-upholstered bucket seats with a digital dashboard.
