1983 Ford F350 Dually Pickup
Description
The first ground-up redesign of the F-series platform since 1960, the seventh generation of the most successful truck in America, signaled a change in light truck construction and design. The previous sixth generation of the F-series became the best-selling truck right as the 1979 oil crisis hit. Launching in 1981 the new F-series generation was given priority to optimizing payload capacity, fuel economy, and corrosion resistance.
This 1983 Ford F-350 boasts a rugged, yet simplistic exterior. With its broad-shouldered stance and prominent “bullnose” grille, it was unmistakably Ford. Inside, the cabin offered a no-nonsense layout with durable materials designed to withstand the wear and tear of daily use. For its time, it provided a level of comfort that was appreciated by drivers who spent long hours on the road. Most importantly, this 1983 F-350 is fitted with dual rear wheels providing a GVWR up to 10,000 lbs, and the largest gasoline engine ever offered in a Ford truck, the powerful 7.5-liter (460 cu-in) V8 with 4bbl carburetor, which the Ford brochure called, “Ideal for big campers, trailer towing, and hefty commercial uses.”
