Description
The 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle featured the prominent "coke-bottle styling" for the second consecutive year before the car grew smaller beginning in 1968. Compared to the previous year, the 1967 models had less angular headlight surrounds and a larger bumper cutout beneath the grille. The Chevelle was available in three trims and various body styles, including a two- or four-door wagon with multiple engine options. The Malibu provided 327 cu-in V8s and enough thrills for many buyers, while the SS 396 was perfect for customers who wanted Chevrolet’s renowned big-block powerplants.
The Chevelle was known as “America's most popular midsize car,” and the Malibu combined fine performance with a dose of comfort. Built in Fremont, California, this West Coast example offers even more impressive performance due to its tasteful upgrades, including a 350 cu-in V8 with Vortec heads and 17-inch aluminum wheels. As Chevy proclaimed in 1967, “The Malibu Sport Coupe is a car that quietly but emphatically says ‘first class.’”
