Get your very own McLaren Senna (made out of LEGOs)
LEGO is giving car fanatics of every stripe a chance at owning their favorite car in tiny plastic brick form. Earlier this year the company released a Charger and Challenger Demon drag race duo to join the other cars in their Speed Champions line. The newest addition is the McLaren Senna, the 800-horsepower supercar named after the illustrious F1 driver who won three championships for McLaren in 1988, 1990, and 1991.
So far the Speed Champions line includes more than a dozen sets of individual cars and a few multi-car sets. Cars that have earned the LEGO brick honor include: Camaro ZL1, Porsche 919, Ferrari 488 GT3, and Ford GT, and GT40.
The five-inch-long, 219-piece model set for the McLaren Senna includes optional wheels and a driver resplendent in a McLaren race suit and helmet. It retails for $15 and, like the real twin-turbo Senna, production is limited.
It joins its McLaren 720S stablemate in the Speed Champions garage, but has a trick up its sleeve: So far it’s the only Speed Champions car that comes with a wind tunnel fan for fine tuning the drag and downforce before race day. That could give it a serious advantage on the track. Better warn team Ferrari.
