Exotic cars don't adhere to a strict definition, but they universally combine upper-echelon performance with extreme passion. And they look nothing like other cars on the road. Built by some of the most exclusive manufacturers in the world, like Bugatti, Lamborghini, McLaren, and Ferrari, these cars were among the fastest on the market when they were new. Many of them remain bracingly fast, even several decades after they bowed.

Fans flock to these cars because they represent the height of sports car design from their era. Aesthetics are boundary-pushing, speed and driving dynamics are equally at the edge, and all exotics are rare and recognizable.

Since exotics are rare and desirable, they are predictably expensive. Take your time and do your research before you buy. And if you need a little inspiration, browse through a few of our favorites.
