Model overview
Model description
In 2006, Dodge introduced a new Charger to the North American market, reviving a celebrated nameplate for the brand. But this Charger was different, with futuristic styling and a four-door layout. Even so, it still retained the rear-wheel-drive setup and potent engine offerings that made its namesake so popular.
The 2007 Dodge Charger continued on with few changes, and was available in SE, SXT, R/T, R/T Daytona, and SRT-8 trims. The Charger R/T added a 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 making 340 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque, as well as heated mirrors, leather upholstery, a Boston Acoustics premium sound system, and the option of all-wheel drive. The R/T Daytona added more aggressive bodywork and unique badging, plus suspension and tire upgrades.
The range-topping model was the SRT-8. It boasts a 6.1-liter V-8, putting out 425 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque as well as Brembo performance brakes.
For the 2007 model year, Dodge offered a limited number of Chargers in Plum Crazy Purple. These models feature numbered dash plates to commemorate the throwback ‘70s purple paint scheme.
