Model overview
Model description
The 2014 Cadillac CTS-V combines luxury car refinement with serious performance underneath. Available in Sedan, Coupe, and Sport Wagon body styles, the 2014 model marks the final year for the Sport Wagon, a car that proudly wore the badge as the “least efficient small station wagon in the United States.”
That accolade can be attributed to the monstrous supercharged 6.2-liter LSA V8 found under the hood of all three body styles. It is based on the LS9 V8 in the Corvette ZR1. In the CTS-V, the LSA makes 556 horsepower and 551 pound-feet of torque. Power goes to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. Manual cars, especially wagons, are quite desirable.
The sprint to 60 takes for 3.9 seconds in the sedan and 4.0 seconds in the Coupe and Sport Wagon. But there’s much more to the CTS-V than acceleration power. All three variants come equipped with the advanced MagneRide suspension system, which can respond and adapts to the road in a millisecond. The CTS-V also features 19-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires and Brembo high-performance brakes, with vented front rotors.
The CTS-V comes standard with a combination of leather and microfiber sueded material that provides grip while driving. This is especially helpful if you are sweating while spending time on the track, and need to grip the steering wheel and shifter. An option worth seeking out in examples of the CTS-V is the available Recaro bucket seats. They are 14-way power-adjustable and are heated and cooled. They also provide fantastic bolstering in hard cornering.
