Model overview
Model description
The Cadillac CTS-V combines the refinement of a modern luxury sedan with the beating heart of an American supercar. For 2011, two new variants joined the standard sedan – the Coupe and the Sport Wagon.
At the heart of the CTS-V is a supercharged 6.2-liter LSA V-8 engine, based on the LS9 from the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. In the CTS-V, the LSA makes 556 horsepower and 551 pound-feet of torque. Power goes to the rear wheels through either a 6-speed manual transmission or 6-speed automatic with paddle shifters. Manual transmission cars, especially wagons, are particularly desirable.
The CTS-V features standard MagneRide suspension which features a special magnetorheological shock absorber fluid that can instantly respond to changing road conditions. The CTS-V also features 19-inch wheels, Brembo brakes, and Michelin Pilot Sport tires. All three versions also feature a large power-dome hood and chrome grille. They also feature revised aerodynamic lower front bodywork, though the Coupe’s lower front fascia is more aggressive.
Out back, the Coupe also features a unique center-mounted dual exhaust, while the sedan pushes those exhaust outlets to each rear corner. The Sport Wagon also features an aggressive slab-like design, thanks to the large D-pillar.
Inside, all versions feature leather and Alcantara upholstery, and helpful driver aids like a G-force meter, and a race-inspired lighting system in the instrument panel to tell the driver when to shift. A great option to look for in the Cadillac CTS-V is the available Recaro front seats. They are 14-way power-adjustable and are also heated and cooled.
