Ride along with Justin Bell in Hagerty’s “Drives Unexpected”

Justin Bell is back. The fun-loving British race car driver, co-host of The Torque Show and The Love of Cars, stars in a new original series, presented by Hagerty, called Drives Unexpected.

The show, now streaming on Hagerty.com/media and available exclusively to Hagerty Drivers Club members, follows Bell as he sets out to embrace the unexpected in cities he’s been to before and others he’s exploring for the first time, all from behind the wheel of incredible cars.

“It’s a fulfillment of my desire to get out there and experience this amazing country firsthand, holding a steering wheel,” Bell says in the introduction of Episode 1: Miami. “I every city I visit, I’ll explore its connection to car culture, its people, and what makes it special.

“I’ve actually spent most of my adult life on the road, touring in a way, visiting racetracks in so many countries. I’ve won the Le Mans 24 Hours and a world championship, but I can really tell you that I’m somewhat of a rookie when it comes to being a tourist.”

Bell explains that because he doesn’t own a car in any of the cities he’s visiting, he’ll take advantage of DriveShare, Hagerty’s collector car rental program. For the first episode in Miami, Bell rents a 1978 Ferrari 308 GTB.

Miami holds a special place for Bell since his father, Derek Bell, won the 1985 Grand Prix of Miami behind the wheel of a Porsche 962. Justin says his career started in the same place, so he figured it was the perfect place to kick off his new show.

After Miami, Bell travels to Nashville, San Luis Obispo, Denver, Chicago, and Montauk, New York. Don’t want to miss an episode? Join Hagerty Drivers Club to start watching today.
