Toyota Adds Equipment, Reduces Price for 2025 Tacoma and bZ4X
Buyers of the 2025 Toyota Tacoma can look forward to new options and an extended kit list, while the electric bZ4X is being offered with a lower entry point.
The fourth generation Tacoma is set to maintain its position as America’s best-selling mid-size pickup, by adding a few upgrades including easy access front tow hooks for the TRD Pro and Trailhunter models, plus a fourth pre-wired aux switch to power accessories. The TRD Pro will also be available in a new color called Mudbath, giving owners an excuse to never wash it.
Otherwise all is as it was, with a choice of two powertrains featuring a 2.4-liter i-FORCE turbo motor. In pure ICE spec it delivers 278 horsepower and 317 lbft of torque but in MAX trim it adds a hybrid system to boost power to 326 bhp and up the torque to 465 lbft. The Tacoma can be had in full-time four-wheel drive or with a selectable 4×4 system. Both versions come with a six-speed auto transmission.
There’s long list of trim grades from the entry-level XtraCab at $31,590 up to the $63,735 TRD Pro i-FORCE MAX Double Cab version featuring Baja-inspired FOX suspension and IsoDynamic performance front seats with built-in shock absorbers to allow owners to tackle any terrain in comfort.
Those opting for the bZ4X won’t want to stray far off the beaten track where charging stations are few and far between, but the good news is Toyota has slashed the price by $6000 for the XLE and $5380 for the Limited model.
New to the range is a mid-range Nightshade edition which adds features such as Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Change Assists and Front Cross Traffic Alert to the standard suite of safety features, plus some styling touches including two-tone or all-black paintwork.
The front-wheel drive version gets an EPA-estimated range of 252 miles on a full charge, with the 4WD dropping to 236 miles. The bZ4X can be charged at Level One and Level Two rates and Toyota is also throwing in a year’s complementary charging on the EVgo network for every new lease or purchase.
Prices range from $37,070 to $43,880.
