Totem Hestia Finds Home in the U.S.A.
An American with impeccable taste is about to take delivery of “Hestia”—the latest amazing Alfa Romeo restomod from Italian automotive atelier Totem Automobili.
The name is said to represent “warmth, beauty and tradition” which explains the rich red paint hue and jet black cabin color combination for this Totem GT Super.
Hestia is the seventh example of the reborn Giulia GT to leave the Totem factory near Venice where the company reimagines the 105-Series Alfa coupe, which was originally designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Bertone. The car is built around an all-new carbon fiber monocoque chassis with CNC-milled aluminum subframes front and rear. Billet aluminum double wishbone suspension sits at each corner controlled by R53 dampers.
Under the hood is a 2.8-liter V-6—appropriately called Gloria—and built by Italenica Engineering. It’s fitted with a pair of twin-stage sequential turbochargers, there’s port fuel injection, dry sump lubrication and a three-into-one stainless steel exhaust system as standard (with titanium as an option). Gloria delivers a glorious 600 hp at 7200 rpm and sends her power to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transaxle transmission and a limited slip differential.
That transmission and its open gated shifter are arguably the highlight of the interior, finished in ultra-polished aluminum. That material features extensively throughout the cabin including the instrument surrounds, pedals and the spokes of the lightly-dished three-spoke steering wheel. You’ll also find Alcantara, leather and exposed carbon fiber to complete the look.
Moving outside that elegantly enhanced bodyshape is complemented by LED lighting for the trademark quad headlamps, racing-style door mirrors, quadrifoglio badges and a set of GTA-inspired 18-inch alloy wheels.
It’s all truly tasteful, yet still capable of tearing up the pavement. Hestia will hit 62 mph from a standstill in 3.2 seconds and go on to a top speed that’s limited to 155 mph. For those who hunger for more Totem offers a Stage 2 tune with 750 hp or the GTA Modificata with 810 horses from a 3.2-liter lump. An all-electric version is also available with 590 hp.
