The Tedson Etna is a Lighter, Faster Gallardo

Made in Croatia and named after an Italian volcano, the Tedson Motors Etna is the first restomod we’ve seen based on the Lamborghini Gallardo.

It’s hard to believe a car that was still in Lambo showrooms as recently as 2013 is already ripe for “remastering,” but Tedson Motors founder Goran Turkic offers up some sound reasoning. “The first-generation Gallardo stood out for its naturally aspirated even-firing V-10, hydraulic steering and manual gearbox—a rare formula in today’s digital supercar age,” he says. “Our goal with the Etna was clear: make it lighter, stronger and more responsive while enhancing its analogue soul.”

Carbon fiber bodywork helps shed over 450 lbs of weight despite it being a couple of inches wider than the donor car. The front end is cleaned up with fewer vents, although the side intakes are enhanced, while the rear features an integral duck tail spoiler, new lights, and titanium exhausts.

The upgraded exits are part of an engine tune that lifts the five-liter, naturally-aspirated V-10’s redline to 10,000 rpm and ups the ante by more than 60 horses to a touch above 600 hp. It will be mated to the classic six-speed gated manual transmission, but don’t worry Tedson will only use clunky E-Gear automatic examples as the base for Etna builds to “preserve the manual cars for future generations.”

Further fettling includes the fitment of 19-inch AL13 R-Series R110 wheels and JRZ suspension derived from the Gallardo Super Trofeo race series. The interior hasn’t been revealed but is said to feature lightweight carbon seats and additional carbon trim.

The Etna has taken Tedson three years to develop and, if you want one of the 77 cars it plans to build, you’ll need patience and deep pockets. The construction time is a year and the price starts at nearly $800,000 plus donor car.
