Speedy Sentra takes center stage for Nissan at SEMA

Nissan

Nissan is set to showcase three custom concepts at the SEMA show in Las Vegas, headed by a race-based Sentra sedan.

The Sentra DET Concept is derived from the spec-series Sentra Cup car, but promises to be even quicker thanks to a major boost for its DET (Dual overhead cam, Electronic fuel injection, Turbo) motor. The two-liter lump has been fitted with all-manner of motorsport parts including Manley pistons, Eagle rods, a Garrett turbo and intercooler, a NISMO prototype exhaust, and Motec electronics. The six-speed manual transmission feeds a Quaife limited slip differential, while NISMO coilovers and a sway bar kit transform the suspension, the brakes are from the Nissan Z and NISMO 18-inch rims wear grippy Yokohama ADVAN Neova tires. Keeping the driver and passenger in their place are Recaro Sportster CS seats.

For those who get their kicks away from asphalt Nissan will be displaying a Frontier Off-Road Race Truck, developed in collaboration with Formula Drift champion Chris Forsberg. The truck was kitted out to compete in the NORRA 500 off-road race where Forsberg and teammate Leticia Bufoni won their class. To cope with the rigours of racing the truck is fitted witha NISMO lift kit and high performance suspension plus a NISMO cat-back exhaust. NISMO Axis Beadlock wheels are shod with Yokohama Geolandar M/T tires. A raft of NISMO accessories adorn the exterior includinga roof rack, LED light bar and flood lights, rock sliders and a graphics pack.

Heading for adventure at a more leisurely pace is the Nissan Project Rugged Rogue which has been designed for family overlanding. It gets a custom NISMO three-inch lift kit, prototype NISMO 18-inch wheels with Yokohama Geolandar tires, a NISMO dual center-exit exhaust, carbon fiber fender flares and rear spoiler, a roof rack and light bar, rock rails and mounts for a kayak and mountain bikes.

You’ll be able to see all three, plus the latest Z NISMO and GT-R NISMO at the Las Vegas Convention Center from October 31 to November 3.
