Save the date: Alfa Romeo’s new supercar arrives on August 30
Alfa Romeo boss Jean-Philippe Imparato has set a date for the debut of the Italian firm’s most exciting model since the 8C Competizione.
August 30 will be the day the wraps come off the car, believed to be called 6C, which is likely to be a last hurrah for internal combustion at Alfa. Given that the 4C had a four-pot and the 8C had a V-8, it make sense that the 6C will be powered by six cylinders. The 2.9-liter, 540-hp, twin-turbo V-6 from the Giulia GTA would certainly do nicely.
The 6C will be produced in limited numbers and will be “iconic, super-sexy, and recognisable,” according to Imparato. Stylistically it will be unique, bearing little relation to the SWB Zagato Coupe, but perhaps borrowing a few cues from the legendary 1967 33 Stradale.
“We are working on something that I could put aside the 8C in the museum of Arese, being proud of our contribution to the history of Alfa Romeo. That is what we want,” added Imparato. “This project is a dream come true, inspired by a daring team that wanted to achieve something unique,” he said.
Appropriately, the debut will take place at the Alfa Romeo museum in Arese, Italy.

I’ll be interested to see how this compares to the Maserati MC20.
They should make a manual transmission version
I’ll be curious to see what we get. The TT V6 from the Giulia maybe?
Alpha Romeo has always made some beautiful and fun to drive cars but the 2 I’ve had in the past were both mechanical nightmares !
You’d think after all these years they would have worked on that point a bit more but from reviews I’ve read about the modern ones , they have not.
