Honda compiled its entire video game racing history into 15 seconds

Honda just released a video celebrating its 30-year relationship with racing-themed video games. The clip highlights some all-time favorite models and, more of course, some seriously memorable games from way back when. The clip is just 15 seconds long, so be sure to watch closely to see if your favorite model or game was included.

The video opens with an EG Civic hatchback in the style of Out Run, which matches the car with the video game of the era. It continues to highlight other popular models like the CRX, S2000, and Civic from other racing titles. The odd inclusion at first watch is the Ridgeline pickup, but thanks to the title Dirt, even Honda’s pickup has some racing pedigree.

Is this Honda leaning in because of Toyota UK’s recent (and now-deleted) tweet that Toyota would not include its cars in the latest Need for Speed in an effort to limit the “promotion of illegal street racing?” Maybe. (Toyota is for now only licensing its cars for use in Gran Turismo Sport.) But at the same time, we’ll ignore the drama and just enjoy a 15-second wave of good ol’ fashioned nostalgia.
