Fit for a Queen, this royal Range Rover is up for auction

A 2004 Range Rover previously owned by Queen Elizabeth II is heading to auction in the U.K.

The green-over-tan (officially Epsom Green and Sand Hide) is a classy combination, and the royal Range Rover comes with a host of other additions as required for its official duties. Look closely at the front grille and you’ll see stealthy lights built in that would flash when Her Majesty needed to make progress along with her police escort.

Inside there are front and rear seat covers, a dog guard to keep the Corgis comfortable and cargo mats. Dual rear window switches and grab handles are also installed to help Her Royal Highness enter and exit with ease and dignity.

Although the paper trail for the car’s regal history runs a little thin the seller has located video footage clearly showing Queen Elizabeth behind the wheel. Having learned to drive and maintain trucks at the age of just 18 in the Auxiliary Territorial Army the late Queen was particularly fond of Range Rovers, owning several examples over the years.

Like all her cars this Range Rover was always serviced on schedule, with stamps from specialists in London and Windsor. Now with almost 110,000 miles on the odometer it is described by Iconic Auctioneers as “remaining in excellent condition throughout.”

This regal Range Rover will go under the hammer at the NEC in Birmingham on November 11 where it is estimated to sell for £50,000-£60,000 ($60,660-$72,790).
