Bye bye, TRX: $120K Final Edition marks last year of Hemi supertruck

Ram Trucks, to no one’s surprise, announced a send-off model for the 702-hp TRX: The aptly named Final Edition, limited to 4000 units. The truck, like the Hemi-powered Dodge Charger and Challenger, ends production at the end of 2023.

The TRX was billed as the “apex predator” of the truck world when it debuted in 2020 as a 2021 model, setting new benchmarks for power and performance among half-ton pickup trucks with its 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V-8 engine.

“The introduction of the Ram 1500 TRX ushered in a significant shift in off-road performance trucks with a halo effect that will last for years to come,” said Tim Kuniskis, CEO of the Ram brand, which is owned by Stellantis. “This current chapter in Ram’s high-performance trucks is coming to a close, but it’s not the end of TRX’s story. While we’ll have more news to come at a later date, we’re proud to offer our loyal performance enthusiasts the very special TRX 6.2-liter Supercharged V8 – Final Edition.”

The Final Edition is rated at 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, like its predecessors, and has a top speed of 118 mph. Combined with a high-torque-capacity TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission, Ram TRX launches from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds and dispatches the quarter-mile in 12.9 seconds at 108 mph.

The Final Edition is available in eight exterior colors, including three new and unique ones—Delmonico Red, Night Edge Blue, and Harvest Sunrise—and it allows for a “unique combination” of technology, graphics, performance, and exterior appearance straight from the factory. It has Satin Titanium beadlock-capable wheels with a matching 6.2-liter hood badge and bed decal. Inside, the exclusive content includes Patina stitching on the dashboard and seats complemented by an embroidered TRX logo on the seat backs. There’s an “ultra-premium” center console badge showcasing the build number, a passenger-side TRX dashboard badge in Satin Titanium finish, and Triaxle-suede door panel inserts.

Safety features include adaptive cruise control, Lane Keep Assist, pedestrian emergency braking with blind-spot and cross-path detection, and front and rear park assist.

The Ram 1500 TRX 6.2-liter Supercharged V8 – Final Edition is available at a starting price of $117,625, plus $1995 destination, and will be available starting in the fourth quarter of 2023.

These things are stupid fun, too bad many of the owners I have witnessed are taking the stupid part seriously.

A $120K for a Dodge truck??? Dodge is really trying to cash in on people that don’t want anything but a big supercharged engine for propulsion, pure idiots in other words. I ‘Ve been a Mopar guy since I got my license but under no circumstances, would I ever make such a foolish purchase I would rather spend the money rebuilding a late 60’s early 70’s muscle car. That crazy price is for those that went out and bought the first version of the Hellcat Durango thinking it would be worth a lot in the future if they decided to sell it, turns out not so much.

Idiots ? Really ? Did someone steal your lunch from you back in 3rd grade ? People with money are the ones that make the world go round. I bought a new TRX Lunar last month and it is a joy to drive.
