543 hp for BMW’s M3 CS? In January, we’ll know

We already showed you spy pictures of it way back in April, and if you’re looking for more proof that BMW will grace us with an M3 CS next year—and we’re certainly among those who are—we refer you to the g80.bimmerpost.com forum, where you’ll find a copy of an official-looking document that suggests the near-term presence of a BMW M3 CS with 543 horsepower and all-wheel-drive. Production will start, the document says, in March.

Said document confirms left-hand drive and says there will be a “USA” model, signified by the model number of 63AY.

We emailed BMW product and technology communications manager Alexander Schmuck to see whether the report was true, and he didn’t quite say no.

“Unfortunately I can’t confirm or deny the existence of this car at this time,” he said. “Always great to see how passionate our fans and owners are about the brand, especially BMW M.

“What I can tell you is that BMW will provide you with some information pertaining to a new model from BMW M in January 2023.”

So, no Christmas present yet from BMW. Formally, anyway.
