2025 Corvette ZR1 is the Quickest in History

The 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 will do zero to sixty in 2.3 seconds, making it even quicker than many hypercars.

If you specify the ZTK Performance Package, which comes with a carbon fiber aero package capable of providing 1200 lbs of downforce and sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires, the ZR1 will out-drag an Aston Martin Valkyrie and a McLaren W1.

Chevrolet says its 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged LT7 flat-plane crank V-8 engine is the most powerful V-8 ever made by an American car manufacturer. It also happens to make the ZR1 the fastest car ever built by a U.S. automaker with a top speed of 233 mph.

Along the way the ZTK-equipped ZR1 will run the quarter mile in 9.6 seconds, knocking a tenth of the standard ZR1’s time, and crossing the line at 150 mph. That 2.3 second 0-60, meanwhile, is 0.6 of a second quicker than a Stingray with the Z51 package, three tenths quicker than the Z06 with the Z07 package, and 0.2 seconds more rapid than the hybrid E-Ray.

Making those kind of numbers repeatable in the real world is down to the Corvette’s launch control and custom launch control features, which are standard across the range. For sensational standing starts, launch control manages tire spin and clutch application rate, while the custom launch control gives the driver more control to adjust for real-time conditions, optimizing acceleration by adjusting launch RPM and wheel slip targets from the steering wheel.

“The 2025 Corvette ZR1 yet again exceeded our expectations,” said Josh Holder, chief engineer, Corvette. “Combined with a top speed record of 233 mph—which is unrivaled by any current production car priced under $1 million—the Corvette ZR1 delivers on its mission to provide customers unrelenting power.”

Prices for the 2025 Corvette ZR1 and its ZTK Performance Package haven’t been announced yet, but what’s clear is it will also be the most expensive ‘Vette in history, and fully-loaded examples could even top $200,000.
