2025 Audi RS3 Gets Small Updates, Keeps Five-Cylinder Alive

Audi

The Audi RS3 stands proud as the last five-cylinder-powered car sold new in the United States. It’s getting a round of updates for 2025, including minor visual tweaks, but fear not: The sonorous five-pot is staying.

Viewed from the front, the 2025 RS3 stands out with a new-look grille that features rhombus-shaped inserts and a redesigned bumper. The cool, checkered flag-inspired LED light signature has been moved up, and the Audi logo is finished in anthracite instead of black. Out back, Audi updated the lights, the bumper, and even the font of the emblem on the trunk lid. Two new 19-inch wheel designs and three new paint colors called Arkona White, Progressive Red metallic, and Ascari Blue Metallic, respectively, round out the list of changes for the new model year. We’d argue that the exterior updates are deep enough to differentiate the 2025 RS3 from its predecessor but subtle enough to ensure older models still look fresh.

It’s a similar story inside. The biggest update is right in front of the driver: Audi fitted a new, three-spoke steering wheel that’s flat on top and on the bottom. It comes standard with perforated leather upholstery and a 12-o’clock mark, but buyers can select Alcantara upholstery at an extra cost. Customizable, multi-color LED interior lighting joins the list of standard features, and the little razor-shaped shifter has been replaced by a switch. Finally, the interior trim pieces are finished in Vanadium instead of bright silver.

Suspension changes are on the list of 2025 updates as well. Audi tuned the RS Sport Suspension Plus system to minimize body roll, which makes the 2025 RS3 faster around bends than the 2024 model. The brand sent the updated RS3 to the Nürburgring to see what it’s capable of, and the sedan lapped the track seven seconds faster than it did in 2021. It’s still the quickest compact around the Green Hell.

Audi didn’t make any mechanical changes, so power for the 2025 RS3 comes from a turbocharged, 2.5-liter five-cylinder rated at 394 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. It spins the four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and the brand’s famed Quattro all-wheel-drive system. Hitting 60 mph from a stop takes 3.6 seconds, and the RS3 keeps going until the speedometer displays 155 mph. Alternatively, selecting the optional Dynamic Plus Package unlocks a top speed of 180 mph.

On sale now across the nation, the 2025 Audi RS3 carries a base price of $64,695 including a $1295 destination charge. For context, the 2024 RS3 cost approximately $1100 less.
