2019 Ford Mustang RTR bows at SEMA, 500 will be sold
It’s never been easier to purchase track-ready performance and aggressive styling—especially now that RTR Vehicles and Ford have announced a limited run of 500 Mustang RTR Series I models will be sold through Ford dealers starting early 2019.
If RTR Vehicles sounds familiar, you might recognize Vaughn Gittin Jr. for tearing up racetracks in his bright-green Mustang drift car. RTR built that race car for Vaughn (who also serves as president of RTR Vehicles), but the Series 1 Mustang will be a dealer-installed package.
Available to be fit on and Mustang EcoBoost Performance Package 1 or Mustang GT Performance Package 1, the RTR package focuses on appearance and interior treatment while highlighting the Ford-tuned suspension, which can be ordered on cars with or without Magneride.
The package includes a staggered set of 19-inch wheels (9.5-inch-wide fronts with 10-inch rears), RTR enhanced rear spoiler, RTR floor mats, shift knob, and puddle lamps. The entire package is designed to supply RTR’s signature aggressive styling to a discerning buyer looking for a way to make their Mustang stand out.
The price starts at $7500, in addition to the Mustang purchase price. That $7500 can be wrapped into the Ford financing, and the dealer installed parts will carry a Ford factory limited warranty. I’ll take mine in the Need for Green hue with 5.0 Coyote V-8, a fitting tribute to Gittin’s RTR drift car.
