Someone please buy Mario Andretti’s 1985 Porsche 935 Turbo

Looking for one sweet Mario Kart? Call Eddie or Bernard. At least that’s what it says in the eBay listing for racing legend Mario Andretti’s 1985 Porsche 935 Turbo.

Offered by Real Muscle Car Boutique, an exotic and classic car dealership in Miami, the slant-nose Porsche carries a Buy It Now price of $375,000. Prospective buyers can also make an offer. It’s the same car that was bid to $300,000 but was a no-sale at Mecum’s 2018 Kissimmee Auction (pre-auction estimate was $375,000–$400,000).

The car is the creation two highly respected icons of Porsche racing, the Kremer brothers and DP Motorsport. The Kremer brothers—Manfred and Irwin—were German performance tuners who took their competition-tuned, composite body panel wearing,  935-based, K3 Porsches to the top of the Le Mans podium in 1979.

Before the Kremers and DP got ahold of it, Andretti’s Porsche began its life as a 930 Turbo. It is powered by a 500-horse, 3.3-liter Type 935 twin-turbocharged flat-six engine, and its many upgrades include widened rear fenders with intercooler air inlets clad with horizontal strakes, flush side mirrors, extended rocker panel sills, sculpted lower rear valance, large rear tray spoiler, and ultra wide BBS modular wheels mounted shod with a short sidewall tire.

The eye-popping sports car wears dark blue paint with gold stripes and leather interior. The cherry on the sundae is the DP Motorsport tag in the door jam, which indicates that the car was built for Mario Andretti, one of only two drivers (Dan Gurney is the other) to have won races in Formula One, IndyCar, World Sports Championship, and NASCAR.

Unfortunately, while owning this car will make you measurable more cool, it won’t make you as skilled a driver as Andretti. We think.
