Graph of the Week: 10 most popular modern classics on Hemmings

Hemmings has been one of the most popular marketplaces for buying or selling a collector car for about as long as anyone can remember. Today, Hemmings features many modern classics and even cars that are only a few years old for sale. At the moment, these are the 10 most commonly listed cars (from 1980 and later) in the online ads, but they are also the most commonly listed modern cars for the past six months. The only exceptions are the Mercedes-Benz 560SL, which moved from fifth to second highest, and the Porsche 911, which moved from 10th to eighth.

Since Corvettes, Camaros and Mustangs have always been highly popular, mass-produced performance cars, it makes sense that the newer models would appear frequently on Hemmings as well. Older versions of these cars are also among the most popular on Hemmings overall. The 560SL, meanwhile, has seen a lot of recent interest and prices have risen accordingly, prompting more examples to come to market. Porsche is also the fourth most searched for brand on Hemmings, which makes it an ideal place to sell something like an ‘80s 911. For the most part, though, it’s the always-popular Corvettes, Camaros and Mustangs that are most often listed thanks to sheer production volume and a huge enthusiast base, even for newer versions.
