Aston Martin DBS GT Zagato caught testing

Business is booming at Zagato. In the same week the Italian coachbuilder revealed its IsoRivolta GTZ, the beautiful bubble-roofed Aston Martin DBS GT Zagato has been caught testing at the Nürburgring.

In case you missed the announcement in 2019, the DBS GT Zagato is half of Aston’s DBZ Centenary collection, and is only available with the purchase of a DB4 GT Zagato Continuation model. Just 19 of these pairings are available at $7.8 million, and all are said to be spoken for.

Based on the DBS Superleggera the GT Zagato sees its turbocharged V-12 boosted to 760 hp, and as the video evidence confirms, it sounds glorious.

Zagato’s main job has been the bodywork and interior, of course. The inspiration comes from the DB4, echoing that car’s double bubble theme on the hood and roof. New headlamps and an ingenious carbon-fiber grille also feature. When parked the grille is flush, but when the engine fires, it opens to allow cooling.

Other unique touches include center-lock wheels and a bespoke interior. Production models will see gold accents on the exterior and inside, although carbon or aluminum will also be offered.

The first DBZ Centenary cars are scheduled for delivery later this year. For those lucky enough to be on the list, it’s quite the two-for-one deal.
