Listen to Lamborghini’s new V-12 track toy
For 2020, Lamborghini’s racing crew at Squadra Corse is cooking up a V-12 track car that should be even more hardcore than the Aventador-based, one-off SC18. Once the world can go back to normal, wealthy individuals will need the opportunity to track a Lamborghini instead of a Ferrari, an Aston Martin, a Porsche, or, perhaps a Pagani. Lamborghini is aware of this.
What we know is that this non-electrified Squadra Corse special will come with the 830-hp version of Lamborghini’s 6.5-liter V-12, along with an integrated roll cage, the full aero package, a load-bearing six-speed sequential Xtrac transmission, and a self-locking differential.
That’s the usual big-wing, massive-diffuser, track-only setup we’ve seen from plenty of manufacturers before, but given that this car doesn’t have to comply with any FIA-sanctioned regulations either, it also comes with Lamborghini’s signature butterfly doors.
Recently, Squadra Corse hit the track with the prototype for its first shakedown laps, and as you’d expect, the V-12 with a free-flowing exhaust and other tricks sounds rather healthy tuned to 830 hp.
