Description

Packard released its first post-war car in 1948, and like many of its rivals, it had a modern re-bodied exterior on a pre-war model's underpinnings. The Super Eight boasted a powerful 327 cu-in straight-eight cylinder engine that produced 150 horsepower. Coupled with Packard's in-house Ultramatic three-speed transmission from 1949 onwards, it was a true testament to American engineering. The Super Eight's striking design, with an inverted bathtub-like body, was a common theme across the entire model range and has become highly sought after by car enthusiasts today. Not only is it stylish and sleek, but it is also one of the final straight-eight-powered American automobiles ever offered.
