2006 Ferrari F430 Spider Start Up
Description
After winning its fifth consecutive Formula One Constructors’ Championship, Ferrari launched the F430 Berlinetta in 2004 as a successor to the 360 Modena — with the convertible F430 Spider following a year later. Despite retaining the 360’s Alcoa aluminum architecture, Ferrari boasted that 70 percent of F430’s parts were new, including the redesigned “F136” 4.3-liter V8 engine featuring a new variable valve timing system developed for the Ferrari Enzo. The amidship powerplant provided 23 percent more power and 25 percent more torque than that of the 360, making 0-60 possible in 4.0 seconds when mated to the paddle-shift F1 transmission. The F430’s fresh styling and revised aerodynamics resulted in 187 more pounds of downforce while maintaining its predecessor’s slippery 0.33 drag coefficient, planting it to the road with the aid of an “E-Diff” electronic limited-slip differential and adaptive suspension. Motorweek (episode 2524) called the F430 Spider, “A car that involves head, heart and soul, it is an automotive dream come true.”
This 2006 Ferrari F430 Spider is finished in uncommon Grigio Silverstone Metalizzio and shows just 4,212 miles. Delivering an enticing combination of speed, technology, and power, the Ferrari F430 Spider remains a stunning Pininfarina-styled package offered by the coveted prancing horse.
