1990 Buick Reatta Coupe Start-Up
Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 1988–1991 Buick Reatta was a handcrafted luxury vehicle that harkened back to the era of coachbuilt automobiles. Assembled with care at the Reatta Craft Center in Lansing, Michigan, each car moved through the production line on computer-guided platforms, allowing for enhanced precision and attention to detail. This craftsmanship was highlighted by the inclusion of a “Craftsman’s Log” with each vehicle, documenting the assembly process. Underneath its striking body designed by David McIntosh, the Reatta featured a front-drive powertrain shared with its sibling, the Riviera, including the smooth “LN3” 3.8-liter V6 engine with tuned-port injection and counter-rotating balance shaft. It was equipped with a “4T60” four-speed automatic transaxle, a four-wheel independent suspension, and four-wheel disc brakes with ABS. Notably, the Reatta introduced the Electronic Control Center (ECC), an advanced touch-screen system offering access to audio, climate control, trip computer functions, and vehicle diagnostics, making it one of the most sophisticated in-car interfaces of its time.
