1932 Ford Pickup Hot Rod Start-Up
Description
As the economy began to recover following the Great Depression, new enthusiasm emerged for hot rodding, particularly in Southern California, where the favorable weather and wide-open dry lakes gave rise to new dual-purpose race/street cars. Among the myriad body styles being built from Ford Model As, Ts, and 18s at the time were the so-called “lowboys” – a low, open-wheeled hot rod modified to lower the body over the frame rails in a process called channeling. This golden age of hot rodding also saw the hobby expand beyond the roadster bodies it had always favored, with 1932 Ford coupes, sedans, and even pickup trucks being particularly popular platforms for hot rod construction. Finished in menacing satin black with custom graphics, this particular custom Ford Pickup Hot Rod is primed for enjoyment on weekend cruises and at local car shows.
