Description
NOW OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Following the resumption of civilian vehicle production after the conclusion of World War II, Chevrolet began production of their new “Advance Design” pickups in May 1947. These trucks included modern features like vent windows, a restyled grill in 1951, and a single-piece windshield in 1954. Initially, they were powered by the venerable 216 cu-in “Stovebolt” inline-six-cylinder before being upgraded to the new “Thriftmaster” six-cylinder. Included on the ever-expanding option list was an automatic transmission in 1954. All of these features helped to keep Chevrolet as the number one truck manufacturer amongst the fierce competition by continually improving designs. Today these trucks are prized among enthusiasts and collectors for their simple yet wonderful design characteristics, with a wide variety of suppliers still supporting them nearly 70 years later.
