Petersen Museum to highlight Chip Ganassi Racing
A new Petersen Automotive Museum exhibit, Chip Ganassi Racing: Fast Tracks to Success | 30th Anniversary Tribute, will open on December 14, 2019 and run until January 31, 2021. Featuring 10 vehicles and various racing trophies racked up by the Chip Ganassi Racing team, the exhibit will fill the Charles Nearburg Family Gallery and replace the Legends of Los Angeles exhibit that had been on display for a year.
Included in the exhibit are the following Chip Ganassi Racing cars:
1983 Patrick Wildcat MK9B that Ganassi drove to an 8th-place finish in the Indy 500.
2019 Camaro ZL1 driven by Kurt Busch in the NASCAR Cup Series.
They will be joined by six cars that have yet to be announced, as well as the 2016 Ford GT that took the LM GTE Pro class win at LeMans and the 2006 Riley MK XI raced by Scott Dixon, Casey Mears, and Dan Wheldon in their 24 Hours of LeMans win, the first of three consecutive wins for the team.
The exhibit will also serve as a backdrop for the Petersen’s Annual Racers Night next April 15th, just before the Long Beach Grand Prix, that will honor Chip Ganassi and the team’s 16 championships and 200 victories.
