The SCCA can help you reach your performance-driving goals—at a discount

Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines! Before you drive your car at full tilt, however, your first stop should be the Sports Car Club of America. Now in its 75th year, the SCCA is where motorsports enthusiasts become participants.

Educational programs include Street Survival School, for teen drivers age 16–19; Starting Line, an introduction to the world of performance driving; Autocross, in which drivers compete in their own cars on a miniature road course lined by traffic cones; Rallycross, similar to Autocross except that competition takes place in a non-paved area; Track Days and Track Nights, an opportunity for drivers to take their own cars on an actual race track; Time Trials, in which drivers push their own cars for faster lap times; Road Racing, with competition levels ranging from beginners to pros; HillClimb, the equivalent of racing up a mountainside; RoadRally, essentially a scenic drive with a purpose; and iRacing, a virtual racing series.

Hagerty’s Jack Baruth is particularly fond of the SCCA’s Time Trials, which he calls “a world-class program that allows you to safely compete in your own car and have Hagerty (insurance) cover the risk.”

According to the SCCA, “With the addition of recreational programs and lower-pressure competitions, living your motorsports dreams is easier than ever. Whether it’s the quest for a trophy, a new best lap time, or a day at the track with friends, the SCCA has something for everyone who loves cars and driving.”

Not only is membership in the SCCA an important step toward reaching your performance racing goals, Hagerty Drivers Club members receive a $25 discount on all Track Night in America entries and a $50 discount on all Starting Line performance driving schools when registering online.

Not an HDC member yet? What are you waiting for? Depending on which SCCA discount you choose, the money you’ll save will cover the cost of your membership. And members receive plenty of additional product discounts, including Griot’s Garage, Skip Barber Racing School, California Car Cover, Coker Tire, and DriveShare.
