Randall H. (Rand) Harbert was the Chief Agency, Sales and Marketing officer at State Farm® from 2012 – 2022. State Farm is the largest Auto and Homeowners insurer in the U.S. with 94 million policies and accounts in force, net worth of $134 billion and current ranking of #44 on the Fortune 500 list. More than 19,000 agents and 68,000 employees serve customers throughout the U.S. Rand joined State Farm in 1992 as an agent. After serving in various leadership positions, he was appointed to chief agency, sales and marketing officer from 2013 to 2022.
Prior to joining State Farm, he served in various roles at H.J. Heinz and Marion Merrell Dow. Named by Business Insider to its “50 Most Innovative CMOs” list in both 2016 and 2017, Rand led a complete transformation of the State Farm logo and overall brand positioning. Under his leadership. State Farm was named a 2020 Marketer of the Year by Ad Age in recognition of the innovative ways the company reached consumers throughout the year.
A graduate of the University of Central Missouri, Rand earned an MBA from Webster University and graduated from the General Management program at the Harvard Business School. Rand serves on the Board of Directors for State Farm Life Company and Hagerty. He is a former Board member of State Farm General Company; The American College; Teach For America; the California Business Roundtable, where he served as Chairman; the California Chamber of Commerce; the Reagan Legacy Foundation; Eureka College; and the University of Central Missouri Foundation Board. Rand has been married to his wife Kelly for 37 years and has three adult children, one granddaughter and one grandson.
