Vehicle details

Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

Built on a 290mm stretched AC 3000ME mid engined chassis with Ford Essex V6. Looks rather like an Audi 5000 station wagon. Metal body, doors work (and fit well), nearly flush functional side windows. Good cosmetics, drivers seat covering stretched a little. If it isnt fully functional now it wont take much to make it run and drive.

Market commentary

Sold for $45,825 at Christies auction of Ford and Ghia concepts in June 2002. How much is too much This transaction is compelling evidence, but the concept and show car fad is in full swing and at least this ones provenance is clear and it probably works pretty much like a car. Christies required an elaborate disclaimer from purchasers, a detail thats probably going to be overlooked in subsequent transactions like this. Caveat emptor.
