Vehicle details

Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

216 92hp Thriftmaster six, 3 speed, optional second and third row seating, chrome bumpers, trim rings and hubcaps shine brightly. This vehicle was produced during the Korean war when nickel was being deverted for the war effort and not to make trucks look pretty. Vehicle is in concours condition, most likely the best example in the world. For the sale a antique wood canoe was strapped on the roof rack and the tailgate was opened with camping and fishing gear displayed.

Market commentary

The seller brings to auction unusual vehicles prepared to the highest standards and humorously presented with appropriate props. Bidders had one chance to get a special interest lot like this Carryall. Bidding was very spirited and this was close to prices recorded at Scottsdale in January.
