Start your day with a Porsche 911 Turbo drifting on a dirt track

As you get settled in this morning, organizing your thoughts as you prepare to tackle the day’s tasks, let yourself be open to inspiration. Change things up a little. Leave some room for something unexpected. Take a 997-generation Porsche 911 Turbo to a dirt track in Oklahoma and just drift around like a madman.

That’s what driver Eddie Hall did with a crew of photographers and filmmakers at the Salina Highbanks northeast of Tulsa. Between the grunt and howl of the twin-turbo flat six and the billowing clouds of dust in its wake, this looks like a glorious way to spend time behind the wheel.

According to the video description, the team’s goal was to capture “the shot”—ostensibly a single dynamic image showing the 911 in all of its all-wheel-drive, 480-hp, dirt-slinging glory. Of course, it can take a long time to get the perfect shot, and the creative process itself can have unexpected rewards, as this video shows.
