Maserati is set to launch higher-performance Trofeo editions of its Ghibli, and Quattroporte to join the Levante SUV.

The teaser image above was released on Maserati’s social media channels accompanied by the caption “Get ready for the Art of Fast” and stated that the Trofeo lineup would be announced on August 10.

The biggest news here is the arrival of a V-8 in the Ghibli for the first time–and in the case of the Trofeo that’s a 3.8-liter twin-turbo Ferrari unit offering 590 hp. Peak Ghibli output is currently 424 hp in the S model.

The news comes just after Maserati announced that it plans to electrify its range, starting with a 330 hp four-cylinder hybrid Ghibli.

Now, with the introduction of the Trofeo to the Ghibli and Quattroprte range, it seems that Maserati isn’t giving up on internal combustion without a fight.

With the Levante Trofeo asking $169,980–a premium of almost $100,000 over the entry level model–you can expect to pay around $160,000 for the Ghibli Trofeo and close to $200,000 for the Quattroporte equivalent.
