The 2025 Civic Si Will Have a Manual Transmission

Honda

We previously reported that lower, more appliance-like trim levels of the 2025 Honda Civic will only come with automatic transmissions, and some will have hybrid powertrains. But our thoughts about the higher performance Si model retaining a stick shift have proven to be true.

Honda proudly proclaims that it is “America’s #1 brand in manual transmission sales” in 2024. The cachet of the new Civic Si being “available exclusively with a manual transmission” will only add to the brand’s appeal to enthusiasts. The Si retains Honda’s 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, but no power figures are currently available. However, since the non-Si Civic can now be optioned with hybrid powertrain making 200 hp, the same figure as the outgoing Civic Si, there is ample reason to expect more turbo boost from the 2025 model.

Red highlights abound in the Civic Si, be it in the interior paneling, stitching, or dashboard accents. Honda says a new digital gauge cluster offers an “extensive selection of displays” and easy-to-read graphics, and the turbo boost gauge and shift light certainly sound like they will appeal to the same folks who pine for performance cars with manual transmissions.

Like other examples of the redesigned, eleventh-generation Honda Civic, the Si gets a revised front fascia, Google built-in software, a 10.2-inch screen, and USB-C charging outlets. The Si gets several of the premium goodies, too, like LED lights front and rear and seat heaters for its upgraded front thrones.

The Civic Si is available in two trim levels, $29,950 for the Si and $30,250 for the Si with summer tires. (Out the door prices, including destination, are $31,045 and $31,345.) Options are likely few, as even a power moonroof and a 12-speaker Bose surround sound system come as standard equipment.
