Stream 30 years of the Silverstone Classic this weekend
The U.K.’s Silverstone Classic has moved its 30th anniversary party online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition to live streaming the auction on Friday and Saturday the Silverstone Classic YouTube channel will be showing highlights of the most memorable races of the past three decades.
Hosted by racing driver and former Top Gear presenter Tiff Needell, there’ll be fresh content in the form of interviews with drivers, and a tribute to Sir Stirling Moss.
Today there’s a Masters Historic Formula 1 Race from 2014 and the Can-Am Interserie Challenge from 2016. Saturday’s action includes a 2001 Group C race and 2019’s Bentley Centenary Race for Pre War Sports Cars. On Sunday you can look forward to class Touring Car race from 2011, parades of Jaguar E-Types and XJ220s, Ferrari F40s, McLarens and Porsche 911s, plus a preview of next year’s event.
For an authentic British summer experience make sure that you have a pint of lukewarm beer to hand and a garden sprayer full of chilled water to periodically douse yourself and simulate the glorious weather.
