Santa swaps reindeer for Bentley horsepower

Listen out for the roar of a V-8 instead of the pattering of reindeer hooves on the roof this Christmas Eve. Santa has a new ride.

Bentley says a very special customer commissioned a unique Flying Spur just in time for Christmas delivery. The one-off Reindeer Eight has been designed by Bentley’s Mulliner division, and hand-built at the company’s ho-ho-home in Crewe, U.K.

The car is finished in a bespoke Cricket Bauble red paint with gold coachlines and trim. Special 22-inch gold alloy wheels are fitted with all-season tires to cope with driving in the new owner’s winter wonderland home.

The color palette continues inside with red leather and 11,100 gold stitches, which apparently take 18 hours for Bentley’s little helpers to finish by hand. The Bentley Rotating Display has been custom programmed to access the Naughty and Nice list.

“What fun it is to ride in a 542-horsepower sleigh,” the Bentley’s bearded owner allegedly said. “I’m looking forward to putting 41 million miles on the clock before the end of the year.”
