Listen to the glorious wail of the Pagani Zonda R
Pagani has teased the ultimate incarnation of the Huayra with an Instagram video of its V-12 engine on full song.
Note the R badging on the engine, which signifies this will be the hottest Huayra to date, and listen closely to the incredible audio. Do you hear the tell-tale whoosh of turbocharging? Nope, neither do we, indicating that the Huayra R is naturally aspirated. The rumor mill suggests that 900 horsepower should be on offer, alongside a heady 9500-rpm rev limit.
The Huayra R follows 12 years after the Zonda R made its debut as the most powerful road-going iteration and ten years after the Huayra itself first appeared. The R then seems likely to be the last of the Huayras, with Pagani reported to be unveiling its next generation hypercar later this year.
Pagani is set to reveal everything on January 21. Until then, put on your headphones, crank up the volume and enjoy a bit of aural ecstasy.
