A GP2 open-wheeler as a highway cruiser?

In the European Union, if you have valid insurance, your car’s inspection is not overdue, and as long as the vehicle is not visibly unfit for the road, you can drive pretty much anything your heart desires. JDM, U.S.-market, or perhaps a mighty Proton? You name it, and grey imports await! However, the seemingly endless list of possible highway cruisers still doesn’t include Formula 1 cars, GP2, GP3, or really any sort of open-wheel prototypes.

With that in mind, take a peek at the video above. Somebody decided that the best way of enjoying what appears to be a 2009 GP2 car—wearing a made up Vodafone-Marlboro-Elf livery and the number seven—is to take it for a spin on the Czech Republic’s D4 highway just southwest of Prague.

And because driving this combination of a Dallara chassis and a Mecachrome V-8 is an offense people will notice, the police are now looking for the driver along with the people in the C6 support car. C’est la vie.
