Challenger 1320 rated for NHRA Stock and Super Stock drag racing
We recently drove the 2019 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 and can attest to its dragstrip prowess. It packs lots of the limited-edition Demon’s go-fast goodies, like its adaptive suspension, beefy driveline, and trans brake, into a more affordable, more manageable 485-horsepower package. All of those additions shave 0.3 seconds off its 0–60 time compared to a standard R/T Scat Pack and help drivers hone their launch to perfection. Now there’s a place to race it against other 1320 owners and really prove who’s the best off the line.

Dodge has announced that its newest quarter-mile conqueror has been rated for competition in the National Hot Rod Association’s (NHRA) Stock and Super Stock classes for the 2019 season. Depending on the car’s weight and modifications it can be entered into a number of Stock Eliminator and Super Stock classes, and out of the gate its ready for National Muscle Car Associations (NMCA) heads-up or bracket racing.
Drag racing has a big community, but now it’s even easier for 1320 owners to get into the sport because Dodge has included a one-year membership in both the NHRA and NMCA or the 2019 season. Challenger 1320 buyers will also get free entry to all six NMCA events where they can compete in the Dodge/Mopar HEMI Shootout and get drag racing instruction on-site at their first event.
Dodge claims that the 1320’s 11.7-second elapsed time in the quarter mile make it the quickest street-legal naturally aspirated muscle car you can buy right now. If you want to get in on as much of the 2019 season’s racing action as possible, you’d better get yours quick.
