“No officer I haven’t been drinking, that whiff of whisky is my Aston Martin.”

That’s the awkward conversation 18 future Aston Martin DBX owners could face when they take delivery of a new limited-run collaboration between the sports car maker and Scottish distillery Bowmore.

The two companies previously partnered on an exclusive DB5-themed single malt, with Aston Martin branding on the bottle and presentation case. Now it’s a wee dram of Bowmore that gets added to an Aston.

Painted in Bowmore Blue as standard each car features Bowmore-branded external copper inlays made of copper from Bowmore’s whisky still, optional black brake calipers and smoked wheels.

Inside, there’s a choice of black or tan interiors accented by flashes of Bowmore’s own tweed. Polished copper from the Bowmore still is also featured in the cup holders and sill plaques while hand-laid copper foil is used on the dash. Accessories such a Bowmore tweed picnic blanket and leather luggage will also be included.

Buyers of the 18 special editions will each be treated to a unique Scottish experience at the end of 2021 when they collect their cars. They’ll receive their keys in Edinburgh, before taking in a 170-mile road trip through epic Highland scenery on the way to the island of Islay to tour the Bowmore distillery and Islay Woollen Mill where the tweed for their cars is made.

No doubt there’ll also be much sampling of the fine local fayre, so buyers may well be advised to fly the chauffeur in for the return journey.
