American collector is first in line for Hispano Suiza hypercar
Mattress mogul Michael Fux has become the first U.S. customer for the reborn Hispano Suiza brand. Fux will add the all-electric Carmen Boulogne to his 160-strong car collection.
Obviously no shrinking violet, he has ordered the car in a shade of purple to match his McLaren 720S and Rolls-Royce Dawn. Copper accents feature on the front grille, wing mirrors, window trim, and wheels. The white leather interior also has splashes of purple—including the carbon-fiber steering wheel.
Fux says: “I love colors that lift you up and give you a feeling of elation. When you see it, the Carmen Boulogne is undoubtedly a ‘wow’ car. It is retro and romantic, and you can’t avoid looking at it.”
The all-carbon Carmen Boulogne is designed and made in Barcelona and has twin electric motors sending 1100 hp to the rear wheels. An 80-kWh battery provides a range of over 250 miles and a claimed sub-two-second 0–60 mph time. Top speed is limited to 155 mph.
Only five Carmen Boulognes will be built at almost $2 million apiece, so Fux’s car may well be the only one to reach the U.S.
