My, How You’ve Grown: Lexus GX Gets One-Inch Lift for 2025

Lexus

Like your toddler, the 2025 Lexus GX is getting taller. The Land Cruiser‘s upmarket sidekick will enter its second model year with a one-inch suspension lift on select trim levels, among other small changes.

Overland and Overland+ trims receive a one-inch suspension lift, which increases the minimum ground clearance to 9.84 inches. The other variants in the lineup sit about 8.6 inches off the ground. There’s no word on how Lexus dialed in an extra inch or so of clearance, but it’s an update that should help the GX go a little further off the beaten path. Lexus markets the Overland and Overland+ trims as the most off-road capable trim levels and as such, they also include features such as an electronically-controlled locking rear differential and the Electronic Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (E-KDSS) for more wheel travel.

In addition to the lift, the second noteworthy change for the next model year is that every GX comes standard with the Lexus Memory System and a power-adjustable steering column. For 2024, the Lexus Memory System was not available on the Premium and Overtrail trim levels (it was standard on the other trims, including the Premium+) while the power-adjustable steering column was optional on both trims.

Buyers will have six trim levels to choose from. Starting pricing for each of the trims in the range is as follows:

  • 2025 GX 550 Premium: $65,285
  • 2025 GX 550 Premium+: $69,750
  • 2025 GX 550 Luxury: $77,750
  • 2025 GX 550 Luxury+: $81,750
  • 2025 GX 550 Overtrail: $72,930
  • 2025 GX 550 Overtrail+: $80,395

Note that these figures include a $1,350 destination charge. For context, the 2024 GX carried a base price of $64,250 including the same destination charge, which represents a not-insignificant increase of $1,035.
