Auction Recap: RM Sotheby’s Phoenix 2016
RM Sotheby’s first auction of 2016 was held in Phoenix, Ariz., Jan. 28-29. The overall total was largely unchanged, though more lots were offered and sold and both the average price and the sell-through rate were down. In all, 126 cars changed hands for $62.8 million (vs. $63.7 million in 2015).
Other late-model performers included a 2002 BMW Z8 that earned $264,000, a 1987 Aston Martin V8 Vantage with X-Pack that traded for $451,000, and a 2005 Ferrari Superamerica that landed $682,000.

RM Sotheby’s next North American sale is scheduled for Amelia Island, Fla., Mar. 12. Key consignments include a 1957 Ferrari 250 GT TdF, a 1939 Mercedes-Benz 540K Spezial Cabriolet A, and a 1962 Ferrari 400 Superamerica Aerodinamico coupe.
