Today’s featured vehicle is a 2015 Chevrolet Corvette … and seven other Vettes, all of which belong to Buddy and Debby Vick, two seriously dedicated fans of America’s sports car. The two live in Alabama, surrounded by a houseful of Corvette items ranging from die-cast models to lapel pins.
The 2015 Corvette, however, is the only one of the Vicks’ Corvettes to boast an appearance in a major film. Liam Hemsworth drove the Stingray briefly in the 2020 neo-noir crime movie Arkansas, filmed near the Vicks’ house in Mobile.
This 1969 Corvette was also the subject of some automotive drama—though not the on-screen kind. The couple bought the yellow coupe from Florida only to discover that the dealer had deceived them by painting over the Corvette’s rusted-out frame. Three years and a frame-off restoration later, the ’69 is back in Alabama, reunited with its Corvette brethren and in much healthier condition.
