Question of the Week: What do you want to see at SEMA?
Next week is the annual hot rod and tuner extravaganza known as the SEMA Show. That’s the Specialty Equipment Manufacturer’s Association—the technical name for pretty much everything in the automotive aftermarket.
For one glorious week, the SEMA show takes over the Las Vegas Convention Center and hosts thousands of exhibitors and more than 70,000 attendees. We’ll be there, of course, looking at things like Ford’s custom Mustangs, whatever small-block madness Ken Lingenfelter has cooked up, the latest trends in the import-car scene, the carbon-fiber Dodge Demon pictured above, and more.
Here’s the thing: the SEMA show is huge. Mind-numbingly huge. There’s an entire hall—larger than most conventions—dedicated only to wheels and tires. It’s easy to walk five miles of convention center aisles and still miss much of the show. And then there’s the almost-as-big AAPEX (Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo) in the Sands Convention Center across the street.
Since there’s so much to see, we need your help. Tell us what you’re most excited to see at SEMA, what you want to know about, or the things we should search for. Give us your recommendations in the comments below and we’ll come back with as many answers as we can muster.
