Check out this Czech-made school bus for the zombie apocalypse
Don’t let hordes of the undead get in the way of your children’s education by sending them to school in this battle bus from Prague-based Torsus.
The meanest-looking school bus in the world is called the Praetorian and it has been designed to carry kids to school in the most inhospitable circumstances, such as when when the walking dead roam the streets, or perhaps more likely, when said school is in a remote part of the developing world.
The bus is based on a MAN chassis and powertrain with four-wheel drive, a raised ride height and chunky Michelin off-road tires. The 6.9-liter diesel engine produces 290 hp giving it the power to tackle any terrain. It can even wade through water three-feet deep.
It’s fitted with 35 seats, each covered with a wipe-clean protective polymer coating and with its own integral seatbelt, so students can be assured to get to class in safety. Sorry kids, with the Praetorian’s go-anywhere ability, that means no more snow days.
The bus is the latest in a range of rugged Torsus vehicles designed for industry and the emergency services and costs almost $250,000, but you can’t put a price on education can you?
